We received intensive training in the fabrication of dragline buckets by a well know South African manufacturer of mining equipment www.vrsteel.co.za Mackanan Fabrication started off as a warehouse facility for VR Steel but later became a turnkey fabricator of buckets for VR Steel. Mackanan Fabrication is the recognized supplier of replacement parts for the VR Steel dragline buckets in the USA.

DRAGLINE BUCKET REBUILDS
8 Yard and 34 Yard New Bucket Builds
We offer high-quality fluxcore, mig and tig welding services for any fabrication projects. As a full-service turnkey company, we have the capabilities to meet all your fabrication needs. We have highly skilled, experienced welders for each welding process. We have significant expertise in working with metals such as SSAB Hardox 500, Strenx, chromium carbide overlay wear plate, aluminum, cast iron, stainless steel, and carbon steel. We have long-standing and substantial experience in welding plates up to 8 inches thick, which require specialized welding procedures including pre-heat and post-heat. Our in house quality control (QC) procedures include each welder recording his pre-heat temperatures every twenty to thirty minutes.
Our fitters are experienced in reading blueprints in both metric and US standard measurements.
We can manufacture custom fabricated pre-assembled lips for all types of equipment ie. dragline buckets, excavator buckets and loaders.

LINEBORING
Line-boring can be done
Mackanan has vast experience in repairing excavator buckets which require line boring if excessive wear has occurred and the pins have worn through the bushings. We can build up oval holes and line bore back to original diameter to fit new bushings.
Our specialized line boring machines are capable of line boring diameters from 2.5 to 12 inches.
FORMING AND ROLLING
In addition to our capabilities of cutting your parts, we are also able to take care of any forming that may be required. This can be done either by rolling or press brake.
HARDFACING
Mackanan Fabrication stocks chromium carbide overlay plate to take care of your wear problems. We can cut parts and form them to your needs. We can do in house chromium carbide overlay welding as well as dribbled tungsten which we can add to your high wear parts.

PLASMA AND OXYFUEL CUTTING
Our Burny10 System with a 10’ x 20’ cutting table has a Hypertherm HPR 200 plasma cutter as well as a oxy fuel cutting head. We provide CNC plasma and oxy-fuel cutting services. We can draw and develop parts in AutoCAD to process any shape or design needed. We stock various grades from A36 steel up to 500 Wear Plate as well as 1/8 on 1/8, ¼ on 1/4 , 3/8ths on 3/8ths and ½ on ½ chromium carbide overlay to meet your wear requirements.
We can also bevel straight line & contour parts to all common or standard profiles.

Mackanan is a family owned and operated CNC machining and fabrication job shop specializing in producing turnkey machined components or mechanical assemblies using inhouse CNC machinery, manual machinery, welding, and our network of outside process vendors.
